The JW Brown Photography Studio
Located in Ridgefield, CT.
Welcome to my newborn photography studio, which provides a comfortable and welcoming experience for both parents and little ones.
After years of working out of my home, the time was right in 2023 to open up a professional space in the heart of Ridgefield, CT. I designed this studio with your convenience in mind. You'll find cozy couches, snacks, toys for siblings, and a changing table, so you can relax while we capture these precious moments. With every prop, headband, and bonnet meticulously organized, sessions run smoothly and efficiently, allowing us to focus on creating beautiful, timeless images of your newborn.
The room is kept to 75+ degrees which is purely for the baby's sake — they like it toasty!
Plentiful on-site parking and a private bathroom are available for all clients.
Scheduling & when to book
For all newborn photography packages, I typically book out anywhere between 2-4 months in advance. It is highly recommended to book your newborn session while still pregnant, as this guarantees your session when baby arrives. Based on your due date, we pencil in a prospective session date. Once baby arrives, I ask you to contact me within the first 48 hours so we can either confirm the original date or find a new one that suits us both.
Payment
A $300 deposit is required to book, and the remainder of the payment is due the day of the session. Additional digital images and/or products can be ordered and paid for after your session date.
CT sales tax of 6.35% will be applied to all sessions.
What to bring
1. A pacifier, even if you don't use one at home, they can be very useful for settling baby purely for photos.
2. Extra diapers
3. Extra formula and bottles (if bottle fed).
Otherwise, just dress the rest of your family appropriately for pictures, or bring picture-ready clothes to change into — this is especially helpful when you have toddlers who get messy easily!
Styling your session
For the baby
I have a full selection of bonnets, headbands, and tiny newborn outfits along with countless fabrics, wraps, and baskets. I source my props from all over the world and I am constantly adding to my collection.
For the rest of the family
Moms, wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident! Dads, a simple button-up or a plain t-shirt with no prints (+ lighter pants or jeans) works well. For siblings, coordinate outfits to match mom and dad. Lighter neutrals (blush, cream, light blue, beige) always work.
I have everything needed for the baby!
